Kathy Beuden Artist of the Month Cossatot Arts and Crafts Assocation held
its monthly meeting
on Friday, February 19, 2010. Kathy Beuden was selected as Artist of the Month for her pencil floral "Pleasingly Purple". "Bluebird Lane", an acrylic work by Jerri Rivers, placed second. President Terry Wester's pencil portrait of Myrtle Sims, named "American Beauty", was third. Sherry Ward's oil painting of an eagle, titled "Wild Thing", took fourth place. Plans for the 39th Annual King Art Show were
discussed.
This show and sale will be open to the public Saturday, May 1st and Sunday, May 2nd, and will be held at the historical King School, located seven and one-half miles North of DeQueen. Directions to the show and details of entry rules and prizes will soon be published in the DeQueen Bee Newspaper's brochure. This is the time of year when the Art Show
Chairman, the
Secretary, President and all committees work closely together toward one goal: a successful show. All regular supporters who have received their sponsor solicitation letters can help tremendously by returning them quickly by mail. In this case "timing is everything". C.A.C.A. meets at 11:00 a.m. on the third Friday
of each
month at the REA building on Crosstrails Road. Anyone interested in learning about the Association is welcome to attend, meet the artists and view the paintings submitted. No prior art experience is required. The club welcomes "empty-nesters", teachers, students, former students, photographers, or anyone wishing to begin or renew an art interest. If there are questions regarding C.A.C.A., please call 870-642-2419 or 870-584-4985.
