Rules King Art Show


1. JUDGING will be done by qualified judge or judges, to be announced the day of the show. Cash awards will be given for top three in all categories. Any one artist may win 3 paying ribbons in art and 3 in photography Purchase Awards are unlimited

2. ELIGIBILITY: All work submitted for judging must be the artist's original work, completed within the past 2 years and not previously shown in a CACA art show.
Adaptation of other artist's work, classroom and workshop work (where everyone paints the same composite) are acceptable for NON-COMPETITIVE ONLY, and may be offered for sale. Prints will not be allowed for competition.
Exception to this rule is made for Youth and Children's Divisions. Members accepting entries have the right to turn away paintings not considered in good taste. Photographs over 50 years old are acceptable as subject matter.
All work, including Children's and Youth's must be suitably framed and wired for hanging. (No Saw tooth hangers) or they WILL NOT be accepted. Any painting (including Children's and Youth's) whose hanging apparatus allows it to fall, will not be rehung or judged, unless it is judged previous
to falling.

3. In the COSSATOT COUNTRY painting category, painting may be in any medium. It can be Landscape, Portrait, Still Life, etc., but MUST typify COSSATOT COUNTRY.      
 Subjects must be identified and the exact location given on the back of the painting. The subject must be within a 15 mile radius of the Cossatot River.

4. For the HISTORICAL award, the subject of the painting may depict any subject at least 50 years old. It may be taken from old photographs.

5. CHILDREN AND YOUTH'S DIVNS: Both are limited to 2 entries per student. Entries must be completed within the past 2 years and not
previously 
in theCACAshow. Cards must be affixed to the back of each exhibit before entry date, showing the name, grade, age and telephone no. of the child. In order to be judged, all pictures must be framed or matted and mounted heavy backing and wired for hanging.
Youth entries are to be no larger than 24 x 30 and children's no larger than 20 x 24.
These measurements represent the total size, including matting and framing. Clothesline art for 0-K is to be no larger than 14 x 18 and must not be framed or matted.

6. PHOTOGRAPHY will be judged as an art form by the same criteria as other media. Both color and black and white will be shown in the same category. Photography must be framed.
Mats must not be smaller than 11 x 14 inches. Both amateur and professionals may exhibit but no form of advertising will be allowed. No saw-tooth hangers will be allowed.

7. COSSATOT COUNTRY PHOTOGRAPHY must depict a subject within a 15 mile radius of the Cossatot River. The regular photography rules (size, etc) apply to this category. Location must be put on card affixed to back of photo.

8. WILLFUL VIOLATIONS of the rules will result in being barred from future shows. No cameras will be allowed inside the building.
