I just got done fixing a painting, that I had messed up by putting some bright g
reen bushes in a
desert landscape. I have a strong dislike for green, no I hate green ( mother always said that I could dislike something but I couldn't hate it, well guess what Mon I hate green). Red is a nice color apples are red, there are also little red wagons, and most fire trucks are red. Blue is a nice color you have robin eggs, their color is blue, blue is the color for little baby boys. Everyone knows the color of a nice ripe banana its yellow, and you always tie a yellow ribbon around some thing or other for some reason or other. This goes on with all the other colors we know them and understand them. I think that I shell never see a poem lovely as a tree ///well not if it's green.

Green is evil. That is my thinking on the color green as it has to do with painting anyway. We can't even talk about green without getting mixed up. You say no way, well try this, " A blackberry is red when it's green. At work you will say watch him, he is a green hand.
That man does not have green hands, but that is what we say. Even Kermitt the frog says it an't easy being green. Green is a color that will sneak up on you it's not flashy or bold it is just there we see it every day.Hello people !! Green will jump out and get you when you don't expect it. I am trying to get you to understand that green is the downfall of many a would be painter. I must say that I must be counted among those. I lived out west and there is a little green. I thought that I was a fair painter.  I came to Arkansas and there is green everywhere, I see it in my dreams at night, I look out the window and there it is. I may need to see someone?  Do you see how green can sneak up on you!!   Do you see what green does to us?

Well there is one thing in greens favor, and that is that God ( yes I said God on this web site I will say God if I want to.)  loved Green. He made so much of it. He made it in so many shades, and there is where the problem lies. There must be 10,000 shades of green.  If you are painting a landscape there will be 5,000 in that one painting. Well maybe not, but the ones that are there will be some shade you have no idea how to mix, or you, or me in this case will just use what is on your brush knowing that it will never work.

Green will always be with us, and I guess I wouldn't have it any other way. Cheer up and do as I do live in the knowledge that everyone is in the same boat. That boat is green and has holes and may sink under the weight of the green but think what fun it is to try and keep it afloat.
